About The Position

The Commercial Sales Intern supports the Commercial Sales team in driving business-to-business (B2B) growth by assisting with sales activities, customer engagement, and account support. This internship provides hands-on exposure to commercial sales operations, including field experience through ride-alongs with Outside Commercial Sales Representatives and collaboration with Inside Sales teams. This role offers an opportunity to gain real-world experience in prospecting, customer relationship management, and sales execution while learning how commercial sales strategies support Batteries Plus customers and store operations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Interest in commercial sales, business development, or customer relationship management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally for ride-alongs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CRM systems or sales tools is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying and researching potential commercial customers within assigned territories.
  • Support lead generation efforts through outbound calls, email outreach, and data research.
  • Help prepare account plans, sales materials, proposals, and presentations for customer meetings.
  • Participate in ride-alongs with Outside Commercial Sales Representatives to observe territory management and customer engagement strategies.
  • Observe and support the commercial sales process from prospecting through closing.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity tracking within CRM systems.
  • Assist with customer follow-up communications and account development activities.
  • Participate in customer meetings and document key discussion points and action items.
  • Help coordinate scheduling for customer visits and sales appointments.
  • Assist with preparing sales reports, tracking activity metrics, and maintaining documentation.
  • Support the preparation of pricing quotes, bids, and sales presentations.
  • Coordinate communication between sales teams, stores, and internal departments.
  • Contribute ideas to improve sales tools, processes, and customer experience initiatives.
  • Support special projects and team initiatives related to commercial sales operations.
