The Commercial Sales Engineer is responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with enterprise customers, ensuring that the annual revenue plan and margin goals for all assigned accounts are met. The Commercial Sales Engineer will be vibrant, energetic, and perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures as well as all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. Energy Solutions or HVAC/R knowledge preferred.

  • Achieving annual revenue and margin goals of all products for assigned accounts.
  • Establishing and building relationships with key customer contacts and decision makers.
  • Developing and updating annual account plans in Salesforce.com for each assigned customer.
  • Communicating administrative and operational issues to the appropriate CoolSys resources.
  • Working with Sales Operations on the execution of service contract RFP processes.
  • Ensuring visibility to all relevant bid and/or negotiated installation opportunities.
  • Reviewing estimates developed by the estimating team and managing the sales/Ops pre-bid process.
  • Ensuring installation sell margins comply with margin guidelines.
  • Identifying and acting on new sales opportunities within existing assigned accounts.
  • Proactively assessing, clarifying, and validating customer needs.
  • Coordinating the transition of new customers with the Business Development Team.
  • Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Proficient with CRM (Salesforce, Gold Mine, etc.).
  • Ability to travel locally to clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of construction and service industry principles.
  • Knowledge of commercial refrigeration, plumbing, and HVAC equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism.
  • Exceptional collaborative team-oriented communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and balance competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data.
  • Ability to make informal and formal presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of HVAC industry preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years sales experience.
  • Experience with contract negotiations, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Strong relationship building and management background.
  • Competitive pay: Base starting at $75K with commission.
