About The Position

The Commercial Estimator is responsible for completing the initial work for potential commercial roofing leads. This role includes approaching customers, conducting site inspections, developing accurate estimates, and presenting pricing to clients before transitioning projects to the production team. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple commercial opportunities simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and the full sales cycle
  • 1 - 2 years of roofing or general contracting experience preferred - will train the right candidate!
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close high-value deals
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Effective collaboration with production, operations, and leadership teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer concerns professionally
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Familiarity with estimating and project management software
  • Reliable personal vehicle required
  • Ability to sit or stand in an office environment for 8+ hours per day
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, and climb ladders
  • Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment
  • Ability to work from heights exceeding one story
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective property owners, general contractors, property management companies, and other trades involved in commercial projects
  • Monitor job invitation and bidding platforms for commercial opportunities
  • Develop accurate commercial roofing estimates and present proposals to clients
  • Conduct consistent follow-ups to nurture and grow business relationships
  • Visit job sites regularly to maintain strong contractor and client relationships
  • Ensure installation standards are upheld by coordinating with internal teams
  • Show consistent respect and appreciation to crews and all team members
