We are currently searching for a Commercial Relationship Officer! The Commercial Relationship Officer reports directly to the Chief Lending Officer or the Commercial Relationship Officer Team Leader of the bank. The Commercial Lender is responsible for their commercial loan portfolio, as well as generating new loan volume for the bank. Within the portfolio managed, the Commercial Lender will be responsible for credit decisions (within authority guidelines), overall credit quality, and fee income.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a related field.
  • Must have the capacity to work under stress and handle difficult situations.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial Loan Portfolio Management:
  • Responsible for generating commercial loans within guidelines set by bank policy, mix and growth targets.
  • Responsible for managing an existing commercial loan portfolio. This includes maintaining credit quality to corporate guidelines, appropriate credit approval being obtained, timely delivery of all required information to Operations for processing, maintaining, building and attracting profitable customer relationships beyond the loan portfolio.
  • Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities, using loan analysis support and guidelines as per policy.
  • Negotiate credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications in accordance with policy.
  • Managing/Assisting Loan Support:
  • Responsible for assuring that all information necessary for loan spreads/analysis is obtained on a timely basis. This function will be part of the loan support duties.
  • Evaluates potential customer loan requests and makes recommendations to Senior Loan Officer and/or Loan Committee.
  • New Business Development:
  • Responsible for generating new commercial/agricultural loan volume for the bank. This will include soliciting new business relationships and deepening relationships with existing customers.
  • Responsible for referring customers to the Retail Department of the bank for consumer loans and deposit relationships.
  • Responsible for referring customers to the Bank’s Financial Consultant for outside Investment products.
  • Customer Service and Community Involvement:
  • Responsible for assuring that customer service is provided in a high-quality manner, as outlined in the Bank’s Strategic Plan.
  • Actively involved in community and civic organizations as appropriate to represent the bank in the community.
