About The Position

The Commercial Relationship Manager promotes commercial member financial well-being and community enrichment through offering commercial lending products to existing and prospective commercial members. This position educates commercial members on lending services and the full range of credit union products with the goal to grow, retain and expand CapEd’s commercial relationship portfolio. Provides subject matter expertise to the Commercial Lending team and all departments for the organization. Identifies and communicates improvements to the department’s operating methods and procedures.

Requirements

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
  • A four year college degree preferred or equivalent experience and/or education.

Responsibilities

  • Consults applicants and obtains information regarding earnings and financial condition to evaluate the applicant’s creditworthiness and ability to re-pay the loan. Negotiates credit terms, costs, repayment methods and collateral specifications, within lending authority. Assists in collection of past due loans.
  • Contacts potential commercial members to foster and obtain new commercial deposit relationships and expand the credit union’s portfolio. Offers various lending products and services to fit the needs of business and commercial members.
  • Maintains the commercial portfolio and reaches out to current members with the objective of enriching the member experience and deepening their business relationship with CapEd by cross selling and linking services of value and teaching business members to navigate ease of service solutions.
  • Frequently and consistently collaborate with all member-serving departments to share knowledge and expertise for promoting commercial lending products and services.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with the marketing department to facilitate promotions and activities for enhancing commercial relationships. Attends or participates in community affairs as needed.
  • Supports Commercial Lending team by accepting unresolved complex commercial member inquires and works directly with members to research and explore potential solutions to provide alternatives within company policy. If needed, researches inquires further, or transfers request to other areas of the Credit Union, to provide a solution.
  • Identifies and makes recommendations to improve the department's operating methods, training and procedures. Develops and enhances commercial member suite of product offerings and collaborates with other departments on member service delivery and process development projects.
  • Assists department training for current or new employees and for other departments by sharing expertise in job role functions, internal procedures and knowledge on how compliance or other regulations affect processes.
  • Researches and maintains a thorough knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures, keeps up to date on regulation changes, and maintains familiarity of new commercial lending product or service trends.
  • Coordinates with multiple credit union departments and 3rd party vendors to complete business member requests and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, and promotions.
  • Contributes to efficient Credit Union operations by performing other job-related duties as assigned.
