About The Position

The Commercial Real Estate Lease Negotiation and Asset Manager at AutoZone is responsible for managing the company's extensive portfolio of real estate leases. This role involves negotiating lease renewals, ensuring compliance with option notice deadlines, and aligning rents with current market conditions. The manager will draft and modify legal documents, advise management on lease terms, and ensure all agreements are executed properly. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in commercial real estate to make a significant impact on the company's real estate portfolio.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate portfolio management and/or real estate lease transactions.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 2-3 years experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate leases and related legal documents.
  • Strong verbal and written language skills, including the ability to interpret and abstract complex lease documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Experience in financial terms and principles as they apply to commercial real estate.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Intensive and creative negotiations with landlords to achieve desired modifications to real estate leases.
  • Draft legal documents for review, typically amendments to leases.
  • Provide updates on the status of leases and negotiations to various in-house parties.
  • Ensure various legal documents are recorded and returned to county clerks/recorders.
  • Apply financial knowledge related to commercial real estate.
