Role Overview The Commercial Property Tax Attorney will manage commercial property tax appeals from start to finish , working closely with institutional clients and experienced partners. This role requires strong valuation analysis skills, client-facing experience, and the ability to independently handle matters while contributing to a collaborative team.

Requirements

  • New Jersey Bar admission (required)
  • 3+ years of commercial property tax appeal experience (required)
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial/valuation data review
  • Excellent communication and client-relationship skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based practice

Responsibilities

  • Handle all phases of commercial property tax appeals , from filing through resolution
  • Represent institutional and high-value commercial clients , including REITs, developers, and financial institutions
  • Analyze property valuations, financial statements, income approaches, and assessment methodologies
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and written submissions
  • Communicate directly with clients, assessors, and taxing authorities
  • Collaborate with attorneys across related practice groups as needed
