About The Position

Our client is seeking a Commercial Project Manager to join their team in Central Suffolk County, NY. In this role, you’ll oversee commercial solar projects ranging from 100 kW to 1.5 MW, with project lifecycles typically spanning 12–18 months and values from $200K to $4M. The company has been in business for over 20 years and has built a strong, well-respected reputation in the industry. While they’re a smaller organization, they offer a high level of versatility and a diverse portfolio of work. They value long-term relationships, consistent execution, and doing things the right way. Solar experience is a plus, but they’re also open to candidates with a solid background in commercial construction. Requirements

5+ years of solar or commercial construction project management experience required
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required
Project scheduling experience required
Weekly travel required around the Tri-State Area
In-office work required when not in the field

Responsibilities

Manage and lead multiple commercial solar projects
Schedule and attend inspections
Collect and submit project documentation
Ensure project timelines and construction milestones are met
Send weekly construction progress updates
Draft, create, and issue change orders
Schedule materials and coordinate on-site deliveries
Allocate and schedule labor resources
Collaborate with engineering on as-built plans, permit applications, and closeout
Communicate with field teams, internal staff, and ownership
Travel as needed to project sites to monitor progress
Maintain ongoing professional development
