About The Position

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Group has an opening for a Commercial Processor. This position assists the Underwriting team through the use of a broad range of support functions. The position helps make day-to-day activities more efficient by carrying out tasks related to data entry, technical computer skills, organization, and communication. Responsibilities might range from policy processing, working collaboratively on projects, training and auditing, and problem-solving system functionalities. Commercial Processor I Supports the underwriting process through data entry, policy processing and other tasks as assigned. Has a broad understanding of the underwriting workflow and the software systems. Ability to recognize system irregularities. Essential Functions Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: Ensures data quality and accuracy, timely data entry, and policy processing. Handles all tasks in regards to picking up, sorting, and delivering mail as assigned. (Mailroom position only) Understands computer operations and is capable of navigating multiple applications simultaneously and accurately. Provides timely and quality customer service. Documents all transactions according to Company guidelines. Supports the underwriting process through processing of incoming documentation. Duplicates, collates, assembles, mails, and distributes materials as instructed.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of principles and practices of insurance underwriting, collection and interpretation of data.
  • Ability to operate equipment necessary to print, assemble, and mail documents, including troubleshooting routine issues.
  • Ability to use initiative and apply innovative thinking.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment through written and oral communication.
  • Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience; or Associate’s Degree or equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (Mailroom personnel only)
