About The Position

The USA Commercial Operations team is a highly visible team that is directly responsible for ensuring that our customer quotes are increased proportionally to our suppliers increases. The team is also responsible for ensuring the field is aware which products are on Sales Control and that the system has these products identified properly. Additionally, the team is responsible for maintaining the departments SharePoint site. Primary responsibilities for this role are to identify supplier cost changes. Changes may come on price increase letters, or a price analysis may be required. This role requires advanced industry, product and supplier knowledge.

Requirements

  • College degree in related field or 5+ years of business experience
  • Broad chemical distribution company experience, related to but not solely, Procurement / Supply Chain Support, Sales Support, Analyst and Accounting
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft suite products: Outlook and Excel. Strong Univar systems knowledge-SAP, Business Warehouse, Tableau, Access, SharePoint, and OneNote
  • Advanced Industry, product and supplier knowledge required to ensure accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of cost strategies and margin management effectiveness.
  • Experience and understanding of product costing, unit of measure conversions, supply chain strategies, margin effectiveness and logistics terminology.
  • Overall strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration. Able to work independently, manage priorities and take on new tasks with a positive attitude. Ability to balance diverse workloads and deadlines.
  • Clear and comprehensive understanding of interpreting and deciphering price letters received from multiple and/or alternative vendors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including strong skills in English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Ability to collaborate effectively with teams internally and externally.
  • Full understanding of company and team initiatives with a forward looking, customer focused attitude.
  • Perform and coordinate a wide variety of complex administrative duties
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to understand the technical implications of business decisions and requests.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the Mass Quote Update process to:
  • Identify and record products impacted by change
  • Document Product Manager approval
  • Record the Mass Quote Update event
  • Identify and record cost or cost‑change information
  • Perform detailed analysis to ensure accuracy
  • Identify gaps in existing processes
  • Maintain the Certificate of Insurance (COI) repository
  • Review COIs for accuracy, request updates when needed, and distribute COIs to internal stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested
