About The Position

This role ensures the accurate monitoring, documentation, and evaluation of existing borrower relationships. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive-capable of managing complex credit relationships, performing financial and collateral reviews, and collaborating with both Commercial Loan Officers and Commercial Credit Analysts to uphold credit quality and mitigate risk. The position is located at Kensington, MD headquarters. The role is hybrid, in office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial lending, portfolio management, or credit analysis within a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, financial statement analysis, and loan documentation standards.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, loan performance tracking, and risk identification.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills for both client and internal reporting.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of data while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NCUA commercial lending guidelines and credit union MBL practices.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems, credit software, document management systems, and core banking platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of loan records for existing commercial relationships.
  • Manage collection of borrower financial statements and supporting documentation for periodic reviews.
  • Perform and document site inspections in coordination with Commercial Loan Officers.
  • Monitor watch list accounts for emerging risks and ensure timely follow-up on concerns.
  • Act as a point of contact for borrowers regarding ongoing financial and compliance requirements (covenant testing).
  • Conduct annual reviews for existing loan relationships, including:
  • Spreading and analyzing borrower financials
  • Assessing loan performance, trends, and covenant compliance
  • Recommending risk ratings and financial condition summaries
  • Preparing credit memoranda and analysis summaries for internal review and approval
  • Reviewing and evaluating documentation for completeness and consistency with approved loan terms
  • Identifying and escalating credit or operational risks based on review findings and borrower performance
  • Support Commercial Loan Officers with relationship management and pre-review preparation.
  • Partner with Commercial Credit Analysts to ensure alignment in credit risk assessment and review strategy.
  • Coordinate with internal operations, compliance, and servicing teams to ensure thorough documentation and portfolio maintenance.
