About The Position

The Commercial Portfolio Loan Officer III administers and monitors a portfolio of Commercial loans, personally managing or assisting lenders in managing loan relationships within the group. This role involves administering and monitoring a large portfolio of complex commercial loans, ensuring accuracy and maintenance of customer records, and preparing management reports summarizing portfolio activity. The officer pays specific attention to credit administration, exception and risk management, and ensures conformity with loan terms and documentation adequacy. The position also includes providing technical guidance, training, and mentoring for staff, performing financial analyses, and maintaining strong business relationships with customers.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years related experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the commercial credit decision process.
  • Demonstrates credit, financial analysis, and accounting skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proven customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and monitors a large portfolio of complex commercial loans.
  • Personally manages loan relationships within the group.
  • Ensures accuracy and maintenance of customer records and files.
  • Prepares management reports summarizing portfolio activity.
  • Pays attention to credit administration, exception, and risk management.
  • Administers existing loans to ensure conformity with terms and documentation adequacy.
  • Coordinates with operations to ensure loan payments are collected and recorded.
  • Maintains current risk ratings on customers and updates credit files.
  • Accompanies loan officers during sales calls to assist with account details.
  • Provides technical guidance and assists staff with complex work aspects.
  • May provide training and mentoring for new and less experienced staff.
  • Coordinates with the credit department for financial analyses and credit investigations.
  • Visits customers to maintain strong business relationships.
  • Performs periodic inspections at customer sites to audit accounts.
