About The Position

Skillforce is hiring experienced Commercial Painters for a large, occupied campus in Washington DC. You will complete interior painting work orders across multiple campus buildings, handling dorm‑style housing, classrooms, offices, and common areas through a ticketing system.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of commercial or facilities maintenance painting experience (non‑residential).
Strong prep skills: patching, sanding, caulking, priming, and cutting‑in on occupied interior work.
Comfortable working from work orders/ticketing systems and moving between multiple small jobs in a day.
Able to work safely on ladders and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs).
Must pass a school‑level background check (no sexual offenses, no violent offenses); drug test is not required for this project.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Receive and complete painting tickets from work order system across university campus buildings.
Prep interior surfaces, including patching, sanding, caulking, and priming prior to painting.
Apply paint by brush and roller on walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other interior surfaces in dorms, classrooms, labs, and offices.
Protect adjacent surfaces with drop cloths, masking, and plastic, and maintain clean, safe work areas in occupied spaces.
Communicate with supervisors and facilities staff to confirm scope, access, and completion of assigned tickets.
Safely use ladders and basic access equipment as needed for interior work at height.
