About The Position

The Foreman position is to be its on-site and the main contact between the Customer and the Kaloutas Painting crew. This position reports to the Project Ops Managers under the guidance of Field Managers. Foreman are responsible for ensuring the full scope of work from project management to safety to painting is completed within the customer’s timeframe and budget. In addition, the Foreman provides overall supervision and guidance to painters to effectively carry out customer service and paint-related duties in a professional manner.

Requirements

5 or more years of experience in a painter/lead painter role
A strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service
Comfortability with managing multiple priorities and adapting when necessary
Ability to read blueprints and perform basic calculations
Advanced knowledge of painting techniques
Possess an OSHA10 card and be willing to obtain OSHA30 card
Valid driver’s license
HS Diploma or GED
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Punctual and consistent work attendance
Ability to communicate professionally; follow instructions and provide instruction
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment; stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

Participate as an active painter during the job when needed to keep the project on track
Complete job on or under budget agreed-upon at handoff meeting
Complete pre job start site visits
Complete site safety inspection checklists before the start of each job
Facilitate daily huddle every morning.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with site Supers
Make sure equipment and materials are on-site ahead of time and returned after use
Calculate production rates and estimated materials needed (i.e. lifts, gallons of paint)
Proactively communicate with Ops Managers on project status on a daily basis
Elevate important issues to sales and accounting
Follow protocol to bill customers for extra work completed outside of original project scope
Assign and hold painters accountable for completing certain sections of the job
Train painters on unfamiliar or advanced painting techniques
Verify crew are trained on lifts, spray machines, ladders and scaffolds before use
Ensure crew follows all incident reporting protocol
Conduct weekly Toolbox Talks
Give crew regular feedback on their job performance.
Partner with HR to ensure crew attendance, appearance, and behavior is always professional
Adhere to all OSHA standards
Return phone calls/emails within 24 hours
Willingness to use technology to communicate and track work
