About The Position

The Commercial Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing credit risk analysis and commercial loan operational activities while ensuring adherence to lending policies and regulatory requirements within the commercial portfolio. This role provides leadership in underwriting standards, supports portfolio management, and supervises operational processes such as construction draw management and supervises staff supporting commercial lending. The position partners closely with Commercial Loan Officers and leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant loan processing while delivering exceptional service to members and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of commercial lending, credit analysis, or commercial loan operations experience (preferred).
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a lending or operations environment (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of commercial loan structures, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems and core banking software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools.
  • A high school degree or GED is required

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to commercial loan operations and/or credit staff, including workflow management and prioritization.
  • Lead credit risk analysis activities and ensure compliance with internal lending policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Review, approve, and provide feedback on credit analyses prepared by analysts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with underwriting standards.
  • Recommend appropriate loan structures, covenants, exceptions, and risk ratings to mitigate credit risk and support sound lending decisions.
  • Interpret lending policy and escalate exceptions or higher-risk requests as appropriate.
  • Maintain and enforce underwriting and documentation standards across all commercial lending activities.
  • Support ongoing portfolio management, including monitoring credit quality, identifying trends, tracking exceptions, and preparing reports for management.
  • Oversee the processing and management of construction draws, ensuring proper documentation, inspections, approvals, and timely disbursement of funds.
  • Respond to routine member inquiries, including rate changes and account-related questions, with professionalism and clarity.
  • Collaborate with commercial loan officers, processors, and other departments to resolve documentation or compliance issues.
  • Ensure loan files are documented accurately and completely in compliance with internal audit and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with internal audits, loan reviews, and regulatory examinations by providing documentation, reports, and responses as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of member information and uphold the security and organization of the work area.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
