Under the general supervision of the Pavement Maintenance Project Manager, or designee, performs application, maintenance, preservation, repairs of asphalt of parking lots, paved trails and sidewalks including, but not limited to, pavement, curbs, drains, culverts and catch basins. Operates a variety of equipment and vehicles such as: asphalt track paver, compact track loader, mini-excavator, asphalt roller, pavement crack seal kettle, water-discharge pumps, pavement router, air compressor, pressure washers, hotbox, tractors, trimmers, saws, grapple hooks, sweepers, vacuums/blowers, vactor truck/rodder, single axle and tandem axle dump trucks, spreaders, snowplows, concrete breaker, handheld and walk behind concrete saws, asphalt plate tamper, asphalt pavement milling attachment. Manually/mechanically loads and unloads vehicles with a variety of materials, equipment, barricades, etc. Maintains and stores equipment. Transports equipment. Performs snow and ice removal by operating a snowplow along with the utilization of a road deicer (salt spreader and/or brine sprayer). Provides perimeter direction and safety controls for pedestrian and vehicular traffic in affected work/restricted areas. Performs other duties as required. This is a full-time Local 700 union position. Typical Duties This position is not solely a CMVD driving assignment, this position also requires the performance of manual labor duties as part of daily assignments. Tasks include lifting, shoveling, raking, carrying materials, equipment operation support, and other related field work as needed.
