About The Position

This position is for a seasoned professional Project Manager in Commercial Mechanical Installation, who works independently, interacting with customers, supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets for projects, oversee subcontractors, facilitates project tasks with various functional organizations, forecast project revenues, tracks progress and costs, identifies project problems, and recommends resolutions. The Project Manager is responsible for managing the installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets, positively representing the company in all client and architect/engineer interactions Work with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables The Project Manager helps oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets. Conducts Work in Progress meetings Expected to develop working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems; Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications Conveys a sense of professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors Accurately forecast revenue each month as well as track costs by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed each month correctly Execute all major functions required for project management, including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring, and project close-out Manage the Change Order process, assuring that scope creep does not occur Assure that all projects will be managed to or exceed the percentage of booked project margin Assure that job safety is priority on every project

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years project management in commercial HVAC Mechanical Equipment Installation
  • 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to read blueprints, structural drawings and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents

Nice To Haves

  • Building automation or electrical installation or construction field
  • Experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification
  • PMP certification or working towards PMP Certification
  • Associates Degree in engineering or project management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers
