About The Position

A well-established boutique litigation firm is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Commercial Litigation Associate with a focus on construction law. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to sophisticated disputes and direct client engagement within a collaborative, high-performance legal team. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation fundamentals, strategic thinking, and a genuine interest in construction-related matters, including contract disputes, defect claims, and risk mitigation strategies within the building and development sectors.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
• 2 to 7 years of litigation experience, with exposure to construction law or complex commercial disputes preferred
• Strong analytical, research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Professional maturity, sound judgment, and commitment to client service

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of commercial and construction-related litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
• Represent owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals in complex disputes
• Analyze and litigate construction defect claims, breach of contract matters, lien and bond claims, and delay-related disputes
• Draft and review construction contracts and related agreements to mitigate risk and support client objectives
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare persuasive briefs and memoranda
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client advisement
• Maintain proactive communication with clients and deliver practical, business-minded legal guidance
