About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Commercial Lines Underwriter with a specialty focus as a GGA Church & Organization Underwriter. In this meaningful role, you will underwrite and service commercial policies across all lines while supporting Germania’s Church, Ministry, and Nonprofit book of business. This position involves evaluating a variety of organizational risks, guiding agents on coverage options, and working independently while cultivating strong relationships with agents and carriers. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborative problem‑solving, offering thoughtful recommendations, and contributing to a mission‑driven market segment serving churches, ministries, and nonprofit organizations.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of Germania, its underwriting practices, and its internal systems.
• Familiarity with rating platforms, policy administration systems, and insurance data tools.
• Basic knowledge of rating elements for all Commercial Lines.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of specialty exposures related to churches, ministries, and nonprofit organizations.
• Experience underwriting multiline commercial business.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and evaluate new and renewal business across multiple Commercial Lines and markets.
• Support and grow Germania’s Church, Ministry, and Nonprofit portfolio.
• Apply underwriting judgment to assess risks, determine appropriate pricing, and ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Work closely with agents by providing coverage recommendations and assisting with policy changes.
