About The Position

The Commercial Lines Risk Control Consultant will provide risk control and risk management analysis and solutions for USI's Commercial Lines clients. This role involves analyzing loss trends and business issues, tailoring risk control service plans to mitigate claims, and developing comprehensive risk management programs focused on reducing the total cost of risk. The consultant will produce written recommendations, interact with claims and risk control professionals, participate in accident investigations, and deliver training sessions for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5 years + in a Commercial Lines agency with risk management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with specialization in Safety, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional designations preferred or working towards, including CSP, CPCU, ARM, CIH, OHST, CFPS.
  • Broad experience in risk management, financing, assessment, strategy, and claims management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at any level of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze loss trends and business issues.
  • Tailor risk control service plan to address adverse trends and exposures to mitigate claims.
  • Complete Risk Control Assessments and tailored Risk Improvement Plans.
  • Measure financial impact and communicate results to clients.
  • Partner with claims and analytics/placement colleagues to identify loss trends.
  • Develop a comprehensive risk management program focused on reducing total cost of risk.
  • Produce written client-facing recommendations, operational observations, and status reports.
  • Interact with carriers' claims and risk control professionals to coordinate complementary service plans.
  • Oversee safety and tracking programs.
  • Participate in accident investigation processes with a focus on future prevention.
  • Develop and implement recommendations for the correction of unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Introduce and onboard clients onto risk management service client portal system.
  • Assist in sales and renewal presentations for existing and prospective clients.
  • Identify business issues and work with clients to develop a plan for resolution.
  • Execute and manage client expectations.
  • Maintain awareness of federal, state, and local safety regulations and appropriate industry standards.
