The HIG Academy 2026 is a 6-week immersive development program designed to prepare you for a full-time role as a Commercial Lines Client Associate at Houchens Insurance Group beginning in January 2026 in Bowling Green, KY. After the program concludes in Bowling Green, you must be willing to relocate to another HIG office location. This program is your gateway to a dynamic career in client service with endless growth opportunities. You’ll gain hands-on experience, build lasting relationships, and receive mentorship from industry professionals.

  • Provides daily support to Account Advisors and commercial insurance accounts.
  • Preparing accurate, properly completed certificates of insurance.
  • Confirming existence of coverage certified; checks for and secures missing information and authorization when necessary.
  • Completing simple change requests, checks endorsements, cancellation endorsements and audits for accuracy and relevancy.
  • Preparing accurate, properly completed auto ID cards; processes new business and renewal certificates, auto IDs, endorsements, cancellations, and audits.
  • Following up on direct bill late payments and keeping Producer and Account Advisor informed.
  • Preparing renewal files and renewal kits including ordering of loss runs and loss summaries.
  • Learning all Commercial Lines service standards and procedures.
  • Documenting all correspondence, follow up for necessary information updates at appropriate times, and keep the client files organized and up to date.
  • Works together with team and with other departments, such as Marketing, Accounting, Claims, Producers, etc.
  • Displays commitment and initiative to meet department and agency education goals as set forth in the organization’s education program.
  • December 2025 graduates or anyone with a passion for client service, business, or insurance.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to one of HIG’s office locations after the program concludes is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
