Commercial Lending Intern
About The Position
The Commercial Lending internship is an exciting new opportunity for a student who has a passion for business operations and for leveraging technology to help improve efficiencies and data analysis. The intern will work under the supervision of the VP Portfolio Manager, and will primarily be based at our corporate headquarters in North Adams, MA. The ideal candidate must be intellectually curious and detail-oriented, and must demonstrate the initiative to learn and take on assigned projects and tasks as assigned. The ability to communicate effectively, coordinate efforts, and build positive working relationships with other members of the team is essential.

Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support with customer application and credit report processes
- Data entry and administration for tax and cash flow analysis
- Updating borrower summary profiles and charts, including collateral items
- Performing Rent Roll analyses for customers’ annually submitted rent rolls including percent occupied, # of tenants, tenant concentrations, percentage of short-term versus long-term leases, CAM reimbursements, negotiated rent increases in leases etc.
- Perform financial analyses on commercial & industrial customers including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow analysis.
- Perform financial analyses on real estate customers including LTV and cash flow calculations, including NOI to Debt Service calculations.
- Analyze the personal financial standing of guarantors through use of personal financial statements, personal tax returns and credit reports.
- Assist in the generation of portfolio reports using pivot tables.
- Ad hoc projects relating to our new small business lending strategy, including site visits to local business customers.
- Providing administrative support to Senior Credit Analyst and Rockland-based credit team as needed
- Assist with Audit preparation for upcoming FDIC audit engagement
- Work with VP Portfolio Manager to help streamline and make improvements to the digital and paper filing systems
- Other duties as assigned
