About The Position

At Alabama Credit Union, we want you to feel good about your future. The role of the Intern position is to prepare candidates for future work, educational, and citizenship responsibilities through education and experience. This placement opportunity is in the Loan Department at the Main Branch in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Commercial Lending Intern will gain real world experience and knowledge of lending operations by working in an active commercial lending environment. Start Date/Duration: This internship is part-time (approximately 37.5 hours per week) and temporary (10 weeks). The program begins on May 26, 2026 and runs through July 31, 2026. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00.

Nice To Haves

  • Lending Intern candidates should have successfully completed coursework in Finance, Investments, or Personal Financial Management and have experience working with tax returns.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry for commercial loans; develop knowledge and proficiency with loan origination and analysis systems; scan and archive records; learn various aspects of credit, credit reporting, loan processing and decision making.
  • Attend classes created to provide you with an edge in personal development.
  • Serve on a community service project team that will focus on achieving measurable outcomes, to be determined by the team.
  • Provide friendly, accurate service to all members and employees.
  • Occasionally, interns may be required to travel to area branches.
