About The Position

This position is responsible for developing potential customers to sell bank products and services in the business community. This position sources leads, develops prospects, establishes and achieves sales targets. It develops relationships with new and present clients. This position manages a diverse portfolio of commercial loans and deposits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years lending or sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong financial skills and ability to develop and interpret financial statements applied to business accounting and finance principles.
  • Ability to analyze client's needs, evaluate available options and demonstrate solutions to improve their business through our products.
  • Ability to influence B2B sales decisions. Strong sales skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a goal-oriented environment. Ability to meet performance expectations in an aggressive growth environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous banking, financial consulting, or business to business sales experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Creates strong local presence. Build and maintain relationships with community businesses and respond to their needs to ensure a positive experience.
  • Build a profitable loan portfolio by successfully prospecting for new business and retaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Proactively maintains activities that support the sales goals for bank products.
  • Uses sound judgement in determining potential clients/deals. Structures deals appropriately to balance risk and reward. Presents concerns and solutions to mitigate potential future risk.
  • Structures and negotiates complex loans and/or agreements to include the terms, pricing, special conditions and interest rates for commercial loans.
  • Approves loans within assigned limits, manages loan and portfolio credit quality, sources prospects and develops new customer relationships.
  • Identifies and successfully capitalizes on cross-sell opportunities and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Interviews applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans. Gathers personal information about clients and businesses to ensure that an informed decision is made regarding the creditworthiness of the borrower and the probability of repayment.
  • Works closely with loan collections staff to contact borrowers with delinquent loan accounts to help them find a method of repayment to avoid their defaulting on the loan.
  • Works to grow the bank's reputation by community outreach and involvement.
  • Operates in compliance with laws and regulations and adheres to lending compliance guidelines.
  • Participates in civic and community activities to generate visibility for the bank.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
