The Brightly Software Legal department is a global team located all over the world, with its headquarters in the US. Brightly Software is continuing to expand into new vertical markets, expand its global presence and quickly grow in the complex landscape of cloud services. As Legal Counsel, you’ll be a key member of our global legal team, balancing routine transactions with complex legal challenges. You’ll help align legal support with business goals, all while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We’re looking for someone who’s committed to excellence, eager to grow, and ready to contribute to a strong, supportive team. The ideal candidate is a strategic and adaptable professional who can handle a large volume of complex agreements while also driving the digitalization and automation of legal processes to improve efficiency.

  • Lead the review, drafting, and execution of a high volume of agreements—ranging from routine to complex—ensuring compliance and delivering customer-focused solutions.
  • Serve as the primary legal contact for unique or non-standard transactions, including new business models and acquisitions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline legal operations through digital tools and automation.
  • Drive or support global initiatives to improve legal workflows and increase efficiency.
  • Support global legal operations by working with international teams and serving as a key contact for legal matters across regions and time zones.
  • Ensure seamless communication and coordination between legal and business teams across different regions.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams within the organization, providing legal insights to support business objectives.
  • Act as a key legal advisor on strategic initiatives and projects.
  • 8-10 years of experience in transactional law, with a focus on software and cloud services.
  • Licensed attorney (JD, LL.M., or equivalent) with admission to practice in relevant jurisdiction.
  • Proven success managing complex, global cloud services agreements.
  • Strong client focus and ability to work across diverse industries and cultures.
  • Experience with public sector contracting and regulatory frameworks, especially in North America.
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to team communication and support.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems and AI-driven legal tools.
  • Deep understanding of multiple regulated industries (healthcare, government, education) and a proven ability to adapt legal strategies for different vertical markets.
  • Background working with U.S.-based software or tech companies in international environments.
