We are seeking skilled and self-motivated Commercial HVAC Technicians to maintain, repair, install, and service commercial kitchen equipment and systems including cooking, ware washing, refrigeration and other food specialty appliances. The ideal candidate works well both independently and collaboratively, communicates effectively with customers and other trades, and upholds our commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in refrigeration, HVAC, electronics, or food-service equipment repair preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years (or more) of hands-on field service technician experience with commercial food service equipment (or related mechanical/electrical systems).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair equipment across mechanical, electrical, gas, steam and refrigeration domains.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and service bulletins.
  • Customer-service oriented mindset, good communication skills, ability to explain technical issues in understandable terms.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to travel within assigned region.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance, including proper use of PPE and adherence to vehicle and job-site safety standards.
  • Collaboration with service coordinators, customers, and vendors is essential to meet service expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls (emergency and scheduled) for commercial kitchen equipment: ovens, fryers, steamers, dishwashers, mixers, walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, warming cabinets, etc.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, gas, steam, refrigeration, and control systems associated with food-service equipment to identify faults and perform appropriate repairs or replacements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and services on commercial kitchen equipment to ensure reliability, compliance, and extended service life.
  • Install new equipment, disconnect and remove old units, reconnect and bring newly installed equipment to startup condition, test and calibrate as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of service activities including work orders, parts used / inventory, service reports, and equipment history logs.
  • Maintain assigned service vehicle, tools, parts inventory, and ensure the vehicle is kept in a neat, safe, professional condition.
  • Provide excellent customer service: communicate clearly with kitchen/restaurant staff, explain repair findings, recommend solutions, and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards and promptly report any unsafe conditions.
  • May collaborate with other trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) during renovations or major equipment replacement projects.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
  • Maintain company vehicle and tools in good condition, ensuring proper usage and a clean driving record.
