About The Position

A leading provider in the Foodservice Equipment Service & Repair sector supporting restaurants, large-scale kitchens, hotels, and institutional foodservice operators across the United States. We deliver on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and rapid repair of commercial hot and cold kitchen equipment to ensure food-safety compliance and continuous kitchen operations. We are seeking a hands-on, field-based Commercial Kitchen Service Technician (Hot & Cold) to join our regional service team. This on-site role is ideal for mechanically adept technicians who thrive in fast-paced kitchen environments and want to make an immediate impact keeping foodservice operations running.

Requirements

  • EPA Section 608 certification for handling refrigerants
  • Proven ability to service commercial refrigeration and HVACR components
  • Experience troubleshooting gas-fired appliances and burners
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnostics using multimeter and related test equipment
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a fully stocked service vehicle
  • Solid documentation skills and familiarity with mobile service management or work-order systems

Nice To Haves

  • HVACR or CFC technician certification
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training
  • Familiarity with major commercial kitchen brands (e.g., Hobart, Vulcan, True, Traulsen)

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site diagnosis, repair, and calibration of commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, ranges, fryers, steamers, refrigeration units, walk-in coolers/freezers, and dishwashers.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs and scheduled PMs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life; document findings and work completed in service management system.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and prioritize repair actions to restore critical kitchen operations quickly and safely.
  • Install and commission new hot and cold equipment, verify utility connections (gas, electric, refrigeration lines) and ensure code and manufacturer compliance.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory in service vehicle, create parts requisitions, and coordinate with parts/logistics for replacements.
  • Provide clear customer communication on diagnosis, repair options, recommended upgrades, and preventive actions; complete service tickets and closeouts promptly.
