About The Position

The Service Technician reports to the Service Manager Located in Orlando, FL Weekend Shift Field Based - Full Time The Service Technician – Hot & Cold Side (Hybrid) is a skilled field professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining both commercial cooking (hot side) and refrigeration (cold side) equipment. This role supports critical customer accounts and ensures maximum equipment uptime across full commercial kitchen systems. The Technician plays a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality service while maintaining strong customer relationships and upholding TriMark’s operational standards.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of commercial kitchen equipment service experience (hot and cold side preferred)
  • Strong understanding of gas systems, electrical diagnostics, and refrigeration cycles
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in high-heat or refrigerated environments

Nice To Haves

  • CFESA certification
  • Factory-authorized service training on major cooking and refrigeration brands
  • Experience supporting high-volume or multi-location accounts

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair gas and electric cooking equipment including combi ovens, rack ovens, fryers, broilers, steamers, kettles, griddles, and ranges
  • Troubleshoot ignition systems, gas trains, thermostats, heating elements, control boards, and safety devices
  • Verify proper gas pressure, ventilation coordination, and electrical requirements
  • Conduct root cause analysis to reduce repeat service calls
  • Service commercial refrigeration systems including reach-ins, walk-ins, prep tables, undercounter units, ice machines, and remote condensing units
  • Diagnose issues involving compressors, expansion valves, evaporators, condensers, and control systems
  • Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection
  • Interpret pressure-temperature charts and electrical schematics
  • Perform preventative maintenance across full kitchen systems
  • Identify efficiency improvements and equipment lifecycle concerns
  • Provide proactive service recommendations to reduce downtime
  • Communicate repair findings, cost implications, and preventative recommendations clearly
  • Maintain accurate and timely service documentation
  • Deliver professional, customer-focused service at all times
  • Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations
  • Maintain required refrigerant handling certifications
  • Ensure safe job sites and proper tool and vehicle maintenance
