About The Position

A Commercial Kitchen Equipment Repair Technician diagnoses, installs, repairs, and maintains restaurant appliances such as ovens, refrigerators, fryers, and dishwashers. They perform preventative maintenance, order parts, and ensure equipment complies with safety regulations. Key requirements include technical proficiency in electricity, plumbing, or HVAC, a valid driver's license, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Requirements

  • Experience with electrical, refrigeration (HVAC), or gas systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeter).
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs and work in tight or hot/cold spaces.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and typically 1-5+ years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association) or NATE certifications are often preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and fix commercial cooking, refrigeration, and warewashing equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance on HVAC units, fryers, and refrigeration to prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintain detailed logs of repairs, parts inventory, and service reports.
  • Communicate with restaurant management regarding repair status and provide service updates.
  • Ensure all work adheres to OSHA and safety regulations.
