About The Position

Protech Mechanical, a Crete United company is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to support our growing electrical and mechanical projects. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment, building automation, and commercial infrastructure. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in working within active commercial and industrial environments. Location: Corpus Christi Pay: up to $36 an hour (DOE) Type: Full time permanent employment

Requirements

  • Current Journeyman Electrician License (State of Texas or reciprocal eligibility).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
  • Strong understanding of NEC and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Proficient with electrical testing tools and troubleshooting methods.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights or in mechanical spaces.
  • Capable of working in indoor and outdoor environments, including industrial facilities.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with mechanical/HVAC equipment and control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical systems for commercial and industrial HVAC/mechanical equipment, including power distribution, controls wiring, and terminations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan and execute electrical installations.
  • Perform conduit installation (EMT, RMC, PVC), wire pulls, panel terminations, and device installation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control systems, identifying and correcting issues efficiently.
  • Support integration of building automation and control systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, technicians, and other trades to meet project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
  • Promote and follow Protech Mechanical’s safety culture on every jobsite.
