The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space-enabled mission effects. The Enterprise Integration Solutions Office guides the solution of cross-agency, multi-mission capability orchestration problems by building and leveraging integration expertise throughout the corporation. We build agile project teams who collaborate across disciplines, customers, international partners, and industry in support of national outcomes. The Commercial Space Integration Center (CSIC) integrates cutting-edge commercial solutions into government space missions, enhancing national capabilities. We bridge industry advancements with national objectives by surveying the market for innovative concepts, fostering relationships, assessing solution viability, and promoting modern acquisition strategies. We are looking for a Commercial Integrated Solution Assessment Lead (Senior Engineering Specialist – Enterprise Systems Engineering) within the CSIC to lead teams that conduct comprehensive evaluations to ensure commercial solutions meet mission requirements and seamlessly integrate into national capabilities. Work Model This full-time position requires 100% onsite work at one of the following locations: Chantilly, VA; El Segundo, CA; Pasadena, CA; or Colorado Springs, CO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering Sciences, or related STEM discipline
  • 12 years of experience in systems engineering, technical assessments, business viability assessments, market analyses, integration planning, and/or related studies.
  • Proven experience supporting a broad variety of government space mission architectures and relevant space market industry segments (remote sensing, communications, ground, launch, space domain awareness, PNT, weather, etc.).
  • Exceptional analytical and research skills to evaluate offerings across the space industry in context of government mission objectives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to lead cross-functional teams and interact with external partners.
  • Continued awareness of evolving commercial space offerings and innovations, including emerging technologies and market trends.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Willing to travel to meet the needs of the organization and customers, approximately 10-25% of the time
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or graduate certificates with coursework in system-of-systems engineering, enterprise system engineering, modeling and simulation analysis, and/or business administration
  • Demonstrated leadership of 5+ member teams in driving the integration of commercial solutions into government missions
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact strategic recommendations to senior government leadership.
  • Experience with systems engineering methodologies, including requirements analysis, trade studies, and integration planning.
  • Experience leading major Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) and acquisition initiatives across FFRDCs, government entities, UARCs, SETAs, and/or industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary cross-organizational teams to develop comprehensive decision support products that evaluate commercial offerings for government mission integration, providing integrated technical and business assessments aligned with program office strategic direction and emerging needs.
  • Define assessment methodologies and frameworks for evaluating commercial solution integration across diverse mission architectures.
  • Mentor junior staff and build organizational capability in commercial solution assessment
  • Identify and advise customers on the market, technical, business, and acquisition risks associated with integrating commercial solutions into national capabilities, providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with commercial vendors, industry partners, and government customers to shape acquisition strategies and integration approaches
  • Drive innovation in assessment approaches, incorporating systems engineering best practices, MBSE, and digital engineering tools
  • Conduct competitive landscape analysis of key industry players and market positioning to inform portfolio-level recommendations and strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent assessment efforts, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with customer objectives
