About The Position

The Commercial Insurance Underwriter I at USAA is responsible for implementing and managing underwriting processes for commercial insurance, ensuring compliance with regulations and achieving business objectives. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 4 years of insurance underwriting experience, with at least 2 years in commercial insurance underwriting.
• Experience executing underwriting processes and making decisions.
• Experience applying policy forms and procedures.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing data for decision-making.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Experience underwriting a Business Owner Package (BOP) product.
• CPCU designation.
• Experience with General Liability and Inland Marine products.
• Knowledge of Excess/Umbrella products.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to execute in an entrepreneurial/startup environment.
• US military experience or connection.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage commercial insurance underwriting processes and programs.
