About The Position

EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors to perform commercial insurance inspections. The company, EXL, partners with commercial and personal line insurance carriers, offering field inspection and risk control services to support underwriting processes. Inspectors will work from their own home or office and conduct onsite survey/inspection assignments in the Gulfport / Pascagoula, MS area, and within approximately 45 miles of these locations. The role requires excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety
• Completion of a 15-hour online certification option (in lieu of experience)

Responsibilities

• Schedule on-site surveys and provide risk control reports to insurance industry clients
• Prepare reports containing information necessary to underwrite a commercial insurance policy, including recommendations to control and/or correct potential loss producing conditions
• Manage accepted assignments
• Successfully secure customer appointments within a local territory
• Complete work assignments on time
• Evaluate businesses to identify hazards and improve safety, mitigating risks for insurance company clients
• Survey commercial operations such as retail, restaurants, hotels, apartments, construction jobsites, churches, schools, etc.
• Assess businesses primarily for Property and General Liability coverage, and also for other commercial insurance lines including Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine and Builders Risk
