EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors with excellent communication skills and computer proficiency. The role involves working from home or an office to service on-site survey and inspection assignments primarily in the Jackson, MS area, and within approximately 45 miles of Jackson. Candidates with preferred experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claims, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety are encouraged to apply. However, all interested candidates are welcome to submit their qualifications. For those lacking experience, a 15-hour online certification option is available to qualify. Fees for the position are negotiable based on experience and the unique aspects of selected jobs. Responsibilities include scheduling on-site surveys and providing risk control reports to insurance industry clients, which contain necessary information for underwriting commercial insurance policies and may include recommendations for controlling or correcting potential loss-producing conditions. Risk Control Inspectors evaluate businesses to identify hazards and improve safety, thereby mitigating risk for insurance company clients. The businesses surveyed include commercial operations such as retail, restaurants, hotels, apartments, construction job sites, churches, and schools. Surveys primarily focus on assessing businesses for Property and General Liability coverage, but also cover other commercial insurance lines including Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk.
