About The Position

The position involves multiple tasks related to the take down of used commercial doors and/or equipment, as well as the installation of new commercial doors, operators, and equipment. The role requires evaluating the appropriate commercial door and installation/service requirements for each job, ensuring that the necessary tools and equipment are available and functioning before work begins. The individual will document the needs of each job, determine if additional work is required, and note any alterations or obstructions prior to starting. The position also includes servicing and installing Wayne Dalton Corp. commercial garage doors and operators, performing minor work in framing and adjustments, and maintaining an appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle. The individual will represent Wayne Dalton Corp. professionally, provide explanations of work performed, and ensure a clean work area upon completion of each job.

  • Three to six months related service, installation, or construction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take down used commercial doors and/or equipment.
  • Install new commercial doors, operators, and equipment.
  • Evaluate commercial door and installation/service requirements for each job.
  • Ensure appropriate tools and equipment are available and functioning before work begins.
  • Document the needs of each job and determine if additional work is required.
  • Note alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions before starting each job.
  • Discuss work documentation with the Salesperson and/or Scheduling Supervisor for approval.
  • Perform minor work in framing, build-ins, and adjustments.
  • Service and/or install Wayne Dalton Corp. commercial garage doors and operators.
  • Perform commercial service/installation on a wide range of products including hinges, operators, door sections, rolling steel, torsion springs, dock equipment, and locks.
  • Maintain care and maintenance of equipment and tools provided by Wayne Dalton of Peoria.
  • Maintain care and maintenance of vehicles provided by Wayne Dalton of Kennewick.
  • Maintain appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle for service/installation work.
  • Represent Wayne Dalton Corp. with customers in a professional manner.
  • Provide explanations of work performed and finished.
  • Describe operating functions, safety systems, operator controls, and proper customer maintenance.
  • Provide expedient and well-prepared service understanding various types of doors, operators, and hardware.
  • Clean work area and discard trash appropriately after each service/installation call.
  • Contact Wayne Dalton on radio dispatch system regarding job progress and additional work.
  • Provide a billing document to the consumer and accept payment as determined by Wayne Dalton Corp.
  • Retain backup copies of billing information and payment securely for delivery to Wayne Dalton of Peoria.
