About The Position

Door Systems ASSA ABLOY is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Install Manager to join their team in the overhead door and loading dock industry. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the installation department, including the performance and scheduling of installation technicians. The manager ensures that installation projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company objectives while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous management experience overseeing field technicians
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach to resolving issues
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in installation, construction, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience managing crews or technicians in the field

Nice To Haves

  • Dock/door industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage all installation operations to achieve established goals and objectives.
  • Oversee technician performance, productivity, and schedules.
  • Ensure technicians are properly trained, equipped, and competent in their roles.
  • Facilitate monthly safety meetings and conduct regular site safety inspections.
  • Promote and enforce safe driving practices.
  • Investigate workplace injuries and vehicle accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with forecasting monthly installation revenue.
  • Manage truck and equipment inventory to support project demands.
  • Coordinate project schedules with end-users to ensure timely completion.
  • Act as the primary purchaser for installation-related orders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end-users, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversee subcontractor scheduling and labor management.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to manage and support installation projects.
  • Plan installation schedules, ensuring the availability of necessary lift equipment, tools, PPE, and other resources.
  • Develop site-specific safety plans in compliance with customer requirements.
  • Invoice completed installation orders, including progress billing for large projects.
  • Work closely with the finance team to provide accurate information for pay applications.
