About The Position

The ComEd Instant Discounts Program Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections of energy efficiency projects, including lighting, HVAC, and fork truck installations. This role involves scheduling and performing inspections, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with project specifications while representing ComEd and DNV in interactions with customers and contractors.

Requirements

  • At least one - two years' experience in energy efficiency services / renewable energy
  • Knowledge of lighting and HVAC technologies
  • Ability to prioritize and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written), customer service and phone skills
  • Strong organization skills with planning and documentation
  • Excellent time management skills, able to create and maintain an efficient schedule
  • Ability to climb a fixed ladder or outside scaffolding and work at elevated heights such as rooftops
  • AA Degree in Engineering or Licensed Electrician or related experience in energy, building, science or trades

Responsibilities

  • Contacting distributors, contractors, or end users to schedule inspections
  • Scheduling up to 4 inspections per week or more across all ComEd Service Territory
  • Conducting lighting, HVAC, and fork truck project inspections for verification of the materials installed
  • Documenting, filing and reporting on complete inspections
  • Performing commercial and industrial inspections
  • Verifying project documentation is representative of the true scope of the project
  • Representing ComEd and DNV while directly interacting with customers and project contractors
  • Documenting the findings and writing detailed inspection reports
  • Photographing all required equipment
  • Uploading inspection results to a database
