About The Position

The HVAC Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of HVAC equipment. They will be assigned a variety of work tickets. Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm Pay Rate: $36.00 per hour

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience as an HVAC Mechanic for large commercial, government, or industrial facilities
  • Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems including but not limited to: chilled water systems; hot water systems; VAV systems; steam heating systems; air conditioning systems; Building Automation Control Systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance, upon hire
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft and email applications
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively utilize available resources to maximize productivity
  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical blueprints
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Geothermal
  • Possession of one of the following certifications: North American Technician Excellence (NATE) HVACR Service Technician Certification; HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification; US Star HVACR Mastery Certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs the maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation, and effects repairs on a large variety of types of refrigeration, dehumidification, air-conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems equipment and controls
  • Analyze, Plan, and Perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC System throughout all buildings
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units.
  • Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant plumbing, electrical, safety and building codes.
  • Ensure the proper working order of the major mechanical and electrical components of all Facilities.
  • Maintain proper stock, parts, tools and safety equipment.
  • Assemble and connect pipes and ducts used in piping refrigerants, steam, hot water, and warm or conditioned air.
  • Overhaul and repair pumps, compressors, controls, piping ducts, and other equipment used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
  • Calibrate thermostats.
  • Repair and maintain a variety of refrigeration unit systems.
  • Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to HVAC System
  • Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statues
  • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and Federal regulations
  • Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC Equipment
  • Properly maintain and safeguard assets
  • Maintain safe chemical storage as deemed
  • Attends all necessary training
  • Other Duties as assigned
