About The Position

The HVAC Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of HVAC equipment. They will be assigned a variety of work tickets. Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm Pay Rate: $36.00 per hour

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
EPA Universal Certification
Minimum 3 years previous experience as an HVAC Mechanic for large commercial, government, or industrial facilities
Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems including but not limited to: chilled water systems; hot water systems; VAV systems; steam heating systems; air conditioning systems; Building Automation Control Systems.
Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance, upon hire
Exceptional verbal and written communication
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to multi-task
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Proficiency in using Microsoft and email applications
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Ability to effectively utilize available resources to maximize productivity
Ability to read schematics and mechanical blueprints
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules

Nice To Haves

Experience in Geothermal
Possession of one of the following certifications: North American Technician Excellence (NATE) HVACR Service Technician Certification; HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification; US Star HVACR Mastery Certification

Responsibilities

Performs the maintenance, diagnostic testing, overhauling, installation, and effects repairs on a large variety of types of refrigeration, dehumidification, air-conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems equipment and controls
Analyze, Plan, and Perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC System throughout all buildings
Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units.
Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
Ensure compliance with all relevant plumbing, electrical, safety and building codes.
Ensure the proper working order of the major mechanical and electrical components of all Facilities.
Maintain proper stock, parts, tools and safety equipment.
Assemble and connect pipes and ducts used in piping refrigerants, steam, hot water, and warm or conditioned air.
Overhaul and repair pumps, compressors, controls, piping ducts, and other equipment used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Calibrate thermostats.
Repair and maintain a variety of refrigeration unit systems.
Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions
Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to HVAC System
Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statues
Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and Federal regulations
Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC Equipment
Properly maintain and safeguard assets
Maintain safe chemical storage as deemed
Attends all necessary training
Other Duties as assigned
