Requirements

  • EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal)
  • 3+ years' experience installing DX HVAC systems
  • Valid Florida Driver's License & insurable under company policy
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with foremen, GCs, and other trades
  • Comfortable training or supporting apprentices
  • Strong understanding of HVAC components (compressors, coils, TXVs/EEVs, controls)
  • Familiarity with refrigerant cycle and EPA-compliant handling
  • Knowledge of NEC, IMC, and jobsite safety standards (PPE, fall protection, LOTO)
  • Proficient with tools: gauges, multimeters, leak detectors, vacuums, recovery machines
  • Basic understanding of controls and system start-up procedures (AHUs, pumps, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Factory training/start-up certifications
  • Familiarity with CHW/HHW systems

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission DX systems: refrigerant piping, air handlers, condensers, thermostats, and drain lines
  • Pressure test, evacuate, and charge systems with refrigerant
  • Wire controls, relays, disconnects, and thermostats
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Set rooftop units using cranes/lifts and ensure proper leveling
  • Insulate and test refrigerant lines for leak-free performance
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental protocols on-site
