Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Furniture Service Technician to install, repair, and maintain commercial office furniture systems, including modular systems, desks, chairs, and ergonomic equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach to ensure professional service delivery at client sites.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in office furniture installation, repair, or a related field
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read schematics and follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to learn multiple manufactures claim submission processes.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with commercial furniture brands (e.g., Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, AIS) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and reconfigure modular office furniture and systems (e.g., cubicles, workstations, conference tables, etc.)
  • Diagnose and repair defects in furniture components including seating mechanisms, panels, drawers, and hardware
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, adjustments, and inspections to ensure functionality and safety
  • Read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings, and manufacturer instructions
  • Coordinate with clients and project managers to ensure timely and accurate service
  • Load, unload, and transport furniture and equipment as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment both onsite and in the service vehicle
  • Keep detailed records of services performed and parts used
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies
  • Negotiate rates with Manufacture partners
  • Submit warranty claims
  • Upkeep warehouse parts area
  • Self-schedule routes
