About The Position

Responsible for performing repair, maintenance, installation and/or preventative maintenance for commercial cooking or refrigeration-related food service equipment such as refrigerators, ice machines, ovens, ranges and similar equipment. Technicians will be provided with a company van, appropriate inventory to perform service calls and a work cell phone and tablet. Technicians must be comfortable with or willing to learn how to document all work performed on an iPad. This position is an excellent cross-over opportunity if you have any mechanical training (auto, plumbing, electrical, etc.) and are simply looking for a change. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required licenses include a Valid Driver License and driving record that aligns with our safety standards, and a Refrigeration (EPA) universal license.
  • Preference will be given to technicians with additional certifications such as CFESA Certifications and/or Journeyman Licenses or with training certificates from manufacturers and/or service representatives.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of the internet, smartphones and tablets.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or similar programs.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintain, install or refurbish equipment according to an established service schedule, company and factory standards and within acceptable time frames as well as troubleshoot and rectify potential problems on location.
  • Apply knowledge of products and seek additional training and education as appropriate.
  • Document legibly and accurately all work completed and submit such orders to office personnel according to company policy.
  • Work closely with management to ensure timely scheduling of work.
  • Maintain service vehicle in a clean manner at all times, perform preventive maintenance and maintain a vehicle logbook on service/repairs done on a routine basis.
  • Keep vehicle stocked with a sufficient supply of parts and tools.
  • Build and maintain customer relations in the field to ensure excellent customer service and enhance the company's image.
  • Offer assistance and instruction to employees as needed.
  • Train new employees on all aspects of the Field Service Technician position.
  • Develop and implement quality control training for Field Service Technician employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
