Randall Fire Protection are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Electrician with Low Voltage Installation Experience to install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems and control systems and related equipment on project throughout Central Florida. The technician will ensure that all systems are functional, compliant with codes, and meet safety standards. This role requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm systems and controls (HVAC), excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining the safety of occupants and property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fully fluent in English. (Speaking, Writing, Reading)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in fire alarm and/or controls installation.
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical experience (120v), installation (Rough in, Conduit installation, Wiring).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA codes.
  • Own and safely use hand and power tools and electrical tools (e.g. Drill, Impact, Multimeter, Hi/Low Voltage Detector, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks on the job site.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 / 30 Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain and occasionally program fire alarm systems and related components (e.g., smoke detectors, pull stations, control panels, signaling devices).
  • Conduct assessments of fire alarm systems according to NFPA 72, local fire codes, and manufacturer specifications to identify deficiencies and system troubles.
  • Conduct assessments of control systems according to NFPA 70, local codes, and manufacturer specifications to identify deficiencies and or system troubles.
  • Diagnose system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
  • Be able to identify preventive maintenance and service.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, assessment information (panels and devices brands and models).
  • Collaborate with contractors, electricians, and building officials during installations or renovations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations.
  • Educate clients on the proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
