The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing intermediate-to-advanced level electrical tasks with minimal supervision. This role requires a solid working knowledge of electrical systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on installation, maintenance, and repair projects.

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including panels, circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting in accordance with NEC and local codes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical work accurately
  • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostic testing on electrical equipment using appropriate tools and meters
  • Work independently or under the supervision of a journeyman or foreman to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout protocols
  • Identify material needs, pull wire, bend conduit, and make proper terminations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Electrical Technician I team members or helpers as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, time spent, and materials used
  • Complete assigned installations, diagnostics, and repairs accurately, meeting safety and performance standards
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risk and maintain a safe job site
  • Collaborate with journeymen, foremen, and peers to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication on job sites
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, service, or maintenance roles.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Skilled in using electrical tools and testing equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters, and conduit benders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative on job sites
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
  • Ability to clearly read and understand work orders, safety documentation, and technical diagrams. Can communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings with team members, supervisors, and clients.
  • Ability to accurately calculate electrical loads, material measurements, and voltage/amperage. Proficient in applying math to troubleshoot and complete electrical tasks.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to diagnose electrical issues, plan installations, and follow complex procedures. Capable of prioritizing tasks, working independently, and solving problems efficiently.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and use tools with precision. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in a variety of environments and weather conditions. Requires vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred, or willing to obtain once hired
