JOB SUMMARY: The Service Technician II will serve as a liaison between the customer and the Service Supervisor/Manager, and will be responsible for organizing and controlling the preparation and execution of electrical service work to meet the company's objectives of cost, quality, and equipment conservation.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience as a service electrician or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license in good standing to meet the company’s driving requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of construction, electrical work, and systems
  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and lay out a project, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Codes
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to:
  • Plan, organize, supervise, and direct the work of the crew.
  • Monitor and document the progress of the assigned electrical work, including the quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Required to perform electrical installation and maintenance work.
  • Maintain the service vehicle in a clean and orderly manner, as well as ensure that service and repair are performed on time.
  • Monitor the work to ensure that the service request is completed following local and NEC requirements.
  • Establish relationships with the clients and obtain acceptance and approval of completed work.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods, equipment, etc., as required.
  • Responsible for adhering to job safety standards per OSHA regulations and established Tri-City Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the area where service work is performed is properly restored to normal and clean conditions when the work is complete.
  • Order materials and request manpower as needed, as well as monitor, track, and approve employee work time as necessary.
  • Participate in emergency service duty on a rotating basis.
  • Attend job scheduling and coordination meetings.
  • Responsible for schedule adjustments as necessary to ensure satisfactory support and completion of all projects and customer commitments.
