About The Position

The Commercial Electrical Retrofit Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and executing large-scale commercial electrical retrofit projects across multiple states. This is a traveling field leadership position requiring extensive electrical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the ability to manage crews, schedules, safety, and quality in active retail and commercial environments. This role serves as the primary field authority on assigned projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with electrical codes, company standards, and customer expectations.

Requirements

  • Extensive electrical trade experience in commercial and/or retail environments
  • Prior experience as a Field Superintendent, General Foreman, Lead Foreman, or similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial electrical systems and retrofit installations
  • Proven experience managing traveling crews and multi-site projects
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Solid understanding of NEC and electrical safety standards
  • Excellent computer and MS Office skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible schedules, including nights as required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience
  • Experience with national retail rollouts or multi-location retrofit programs
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience working in live, occupied facilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site leadership and supervision for commercial electrical retrofit projects nationwide
  • Manage and direct foremen, electricians, and installers in the field
  • Serve as the main field contact between project management, customers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local AHJ requirements, and company standards
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor project schedules, manpower, and productivity
  • Conduct site walkthroughs, job readiness reviews, and close-out inspections
  • Enforce jobsite safety policies, including OSHA compliance and company safety programs
  • Identify and resolve field issues, scope changes, and installation challenges in real time
  • Verify materials, equipment, and tools are on site and properly used
  • Review daily reports, time tracking, and field documentation
  • Support training, mentoring, and performance development of field personnel
  • Maintain professional conduct while working in occupied retail and commercial spaces
