We have an opening for a Gear Take-off and Quotations Associate to join our quotations team in the Oklahoma City, OK region! Locke Supply Company of Oklahoma City, OK is seeking an outgoing and energetic Gear Take-off and Quotations Associate to provide excellent customer service at our commercial project house location. This position's pay is based on experience and knowledge with gear take-off and quotation experience; there are also monthly bonus opportunities. Requirements

  • Preferred minimum 2–3 years of experience in switchgear quotation, electrical estimating, or a related field within the electrical distribution or contracting industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, circuit breakers, and related components.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications accurately.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the humility to learn new processes and contribute collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with comfort in heavy phone and email correspondence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Compas or similar ERP/quoting systems preferred.
  • Commitment to accuracy, professionalism, and meeting all deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and specifications to prepare precise switchgear quotations.
  • Perform detailed take-offs for switchgear and related components, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Quote switchgear jobs for electrical contractors, often under tight timelines—meeting deadlines is a must.
  • Collaborate closely with outside sales, project managers, and manufacturers to ensure pricing accuracy and project alignment.
  • Work extensively with manufacturers to confirm part numbers, catalog numbers, and technical specifications.
  • Manage bills of material, submittals, and work with project management for order entry for awarded projects.
  • Proactively communicate with outside sales, manufacturers, and customers by phone and email to clarify requirements, provide updates, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Utilize internal systems to manage quotes, documentation, and project information.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the electrical distribution process and how switchgear integrates into larger projects.
  • Support aspects of project management, including communicating timelines and lead times with all stakeholders pre-order.
  • Maintain strong organization and attention to detail in a desk-based role requiring consistent accuracy and follow-through.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of estimating practices, industry standards, and construction techniques by participating in product meetings, seminars, and training.
