About The Position

The Safety Trainer at Recology King County is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing training programs for employees, particularly in safety and hazardous waste handling. Requirements

• Three years of related experience in safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of technical and professional principles, practices, laws, and applications related to safety.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license and Commercial Drivers' License required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in developing training materials and manuals.
• Familiarity with DOT laws and regulations.
• Experience in conducting off-site safety observations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct training for assigned functional area.
• Confer with management to determine training requirements.
• Formulate training programs and schedules based on identified training needs.
• Develop and conduct safety and hazardous waste handling training programs for employees.
• Select appropriate instructional procedures or methods for training.
• Organize and develop training manuals and reference materials.
• Test trainees to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
• Document compliance with federal and state agencies such as DOT and OSHA.
• Provide health, safety, and environmental compliance services as needed.
