About The Position

The Commercial Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient daily collection of solid waste and recyclables along a specified route, ensuring compliance with all company policies and safety standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining customer satisfaction through courteous and timely service.

Requirements

• Knowledge of operating a Class A or Class B vehicle with an air brake endorsement.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Solid Waste industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations is a plus.
• Ability to work safely and follow all operating practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste both mechanically and manually.
• Transport collected waste to appropriate disposal sites.
• Interact courteously with customers, addressing concerns and maintaining a positive relationship.
• Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and MVD safety standards.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on the vehicle, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
• Assist with special projects, including community cleanups and events.
• Actively communicate with supervisors, dispatch, and other drivers via radio.
• Respond promptly to customer complaints or service issues.
