Requirements

• Experience in scientific diving and/or commercial diving
• Knowledge of environmental assessments and water quality management
• Ability to conduct surveys and assessments in aquatic environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel for field assignments

Nice To Haves

• Certification in SCUBA diving
• Experience with freshwater mussel surveys
• Familiarity with bathymetric survey techniques
• Mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and repair

Responsibilities

• Conduct freshwater mussel surveys
• Conduct bathymetric surveys
• Conduct scientific dives and commercial dives (if qualified)
• Act as a member of the Stantec commercial dive team (if qualified)
• Conduct Surface Supplied Air and SCUBA diving operations onsite
• Assist with maintenance and repairs of diving equipment
• Assist with maintenance and repairs of boats, trucks, and other field equipment
• Prepare and enforce dive plans, job hazard analyses, and emergency management plans for projects
• Conduct sediment sampling
• Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments
• Ability to inspect and maintain boats, trucks and other field equipment, ability to repair a plus
• Ability to record and track dive and maintenance logs
• Flexible schedule and willingness to travel for prolonged periods for field assignments; Position will primarily work on job sites. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
