About The Position

The Commercial Credit Underwriter II is responsible for analyzing and underwriting commercial loan applications, ensuring compliance with lending practices and regulations. This role involves conducting financial analyses, making credit decisions, and mentoring junior underwriting staff. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant commercial lending experience.
  • Prior lending authority preferred.
  • Proven analytical and research skills.
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting and industry practices.
  • Experience with business and personal financial statement analysis.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and good business judgment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with various business partners.
  • Developed PC skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.

Nice To Haves

  • Small Business Administration/Agency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and underwrite commercial loan applications while adhering to lending practices and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, quality standards, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct credit investigations and analyze financial information related to commercial credit exposure.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of underwriting staff.
  • Perform historical business financial analysis and cash flow assessments.
  • Investigate guarantor financial positions and analyze personal financial statements.
  • Research economic and market conditions relevant to the company and industry.
  • Identify credit applications requiring enhancements and make decisions accordingly.
  • Set lending conditions and collaborate with shared services to expedite loan closings.
  • Maintain satisfactory portfolio delinquencies and charge-offs.
